School Profile

The Duchess’s Community High School was established in 1979. Students range from 11 to 18 and the school now has a roll of approximately 1450. In May 2017 we went through a very successful Ofsted Inspection ( We try to combine the traditions so valued by our local community with the up to date thinking so essential to creating effective and successful learning and teaching. All visitors who come to the school remark on the sense of purpose and the friendly feeling the school has.

In September 2016 we moved into brand new buildings with 21st Century facilities. In September 2017 we extended our age range from 13 – 18 to 11 – 18 – exciting times!

The school atmosphere is positive and friendly and we enjoy high levels of student co-operation. Our student body encompasses a huge range of abilities and talents. This school truly has a comprehensive intake and anyone considering applying must be prepared for the challenge that this provides.
